Lisbon is full of light, flavor, and soul — and yes, there’s plenty more to do than riding tram 28 or queuing at Pastéis de Belém.
If you want to experience the city a bit differently (and more meaningfully), here are 5 things you should definitely consider:
☕ 1. Start your day with a coffee in Alfama
Forget the touristy cafés. Walk through the narrow alleys of Alfama and find a local café with two chairs outside, an old man reading the paper, and a strong espresso for €1.
That’s where Lisbon begins — slow, sunny, and full of charm.
🌊 2. Take the ferry to Cacilhas and eat by the river
Hop on a short ferry ride from Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas.
There, you’ll find amazing seafood restaurants (like Ponto Final), a view over the 25 de Abril bridge, and a calm vibe away from the crowds. Sunset here is magic.
📸 3. Book a natural photoshoot with a local photographer
Whether you’re visiting Lisbon solo, as a couple or with family — a photoshoot is the perfect way to remember your time here.
Forget stiff poses and studio lighting — my sessions are relaxed, outdoors, and full of light. We choose a place you connect with, and I capture real, unfiltered moments that you’ll actually want to keep.

🎶 4. Listen to live Fado — but go underground
Skip the overpriced restaurants. Instead, look for smaller taverns or even improvised Fado nights in old wine cellars (ask locals or Airbnb hosts).
These raw, acoustic performances hit different — especially when you don’t understand every word.
🌳 5. Watch the sunset from Jardim do Torel
Forget Miradouro da Senhora do Monte (packed).
Head to Jardim do Torel — it’s peaceful, quiet, and full of locals. Bring a drink, sit on the grass, and enjoy one of the best views in Lisbon with no crowds around.
