How Much Does a Photoshoot in Lisbon Cost?
What the cost of a session depends on, what each of our three session lengths includes, and how to choose the length that suits your trip.
The cost of a private session with us depends on two things: how long you book (30 minutes, one hour or 90 minutes) and how many people are in the photos. Every session includes professional editing, an online gallery and location scouting, and the current prices are on our booking page.
So how much does a photoshoot in Lisbon cost? For most visitors it comes down to choosing a length, with no hidden extras. Below you will find what each session includes, the few things that can change the total, and a simple way to choose between 30, 60 and 90 minutes. We keep the figures in one place only, so they are always up to date, and our booking page is that place.
The cost depends on the session length and the number of people. Each session covers up to two people, and more can join, up to 10 in total. Professional editing, the private online gallery and location scouting are included in every session. Apart from group size, the only possible extras are a small card processing fee and monument tickets, and we confirm them before you pay. For the current prices, see the booking page.
How much is a Lisbon photoshoot? Our three sessions at a glance
All three sessions are with a local photographer who knows the city, and all three include the same things: professional editing, a private online gallery delivered within 7 days, full-resolution files with no watermarks, and location scouting. A session covers up to two people, so a couple, two friends or a parent and child book one session together.
The photo counts above are the ones on our booking page, and so are the current prices. We do not repeat the prices in our guides, so that what you read here never goes out of date.
What is included in the price?
- Professional editing. Every photo in your gallery is professionally edited. You do not receive a pile of raw files to sort through.
- A private online gallery within 7 days. You get a link only you and the people you share it with can open.
- Full resolution, no watermarks. Download the files to print, post or put in an album. They are yours to use.
- Location scouting. We choose the spots, check the light and plan the route before you arrive. If you would rather not decide, the “Surprise me” option on the booking form lets us choose the location.
- Rescheduling for bad weather. If the forecast is clearly unfavourable we move the session at no extra cost. More on that further down.
If you are comparing vacation photographers, check these same five points on each offer. Ask whether editing, the gallery and downloads are part of the quoted price, because a headline number only means something once you know what it covers. Also ask how many photos you receive and when, since a gallery that arrives weeks after your trip is less useful than one you can open while you are still in Lisbon.
What changes the price of a photoshoot in Lisbon?
Only a handful of things move the total, and we tell you about each of them before you pay. The main one is session length. A longer session gives you more time, more locations and more edited photos, and the longer options give you more photos for each minute of the session, which is worth knowing if you are on the fence.
More people can join
A session covers up to two people. More people can join, up to 10 in total, and the booking page has the details.

Paying by card carries a small processing fee. Message us on WhatsApp and we can arrange another way to pay without the fee.
You can decide when you reserveOnly inside ticketed sites
Most Lisbon sessions happen at viewpoints, streets and the riverfront, so there is normally no ticket. Inside Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle, Regaleira or Monserrate, each visitor needs one, photographer included. We confirm this with you first.
Not needed for most sessionsHere is how those factors fit together. Session length sets the base, group size is the second variable, and tickets only come into play if you choose to shoot inside a monument. A couple at a viewpoint and the riverfront only needs to pick a length.
If you combine your session with Sintra, the gardens, viewpoints and streets are free to shoot in as well. Ticket prices for Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle and Monserrate are on the official Parques de Sintra site.
Tell us your dates and the number of people and we will confirm availability and the exact total on WhatsApp.
Check availabilityShould I book 30 minutes, 1 hour or 90 minutes?
The right length depends less on budget than on how much you want to do. Here is how we think about it when someone asks us.
One spot, quick portraits
Good for a single viewpoint or a short walk when your day is full. Expect up to 25 edited photos and an unhurried pace if you keep it to one area.
Best for: couples with a tight schedule, solo travellers who want a few great portraitsTwo locations, more variety
Enough time to move between two places, change position and get both close portraits and wider scenes. Up to 40 edited photos.
Best for: most couples and solo travellers, small familiesSeveral locations, no rushing
Lets us work with children’s energy, set up a proposal properly or cover several neighbourhoods. You receive 60+ edited photos.
Best for: proposals, families, anniversary and honeymoon sessionsIf you are choosing between two lengths, think about how many places you want to be photographed in and who is in the frame. Children need breaks and a proposal needs a margin for waiting, so those two nearly always do better with 90 minutes. A couple who wants the 25 de Abril Bridge and one Alfama viewpoint will be happy with an hour.
Travel time between spots is the part people underestimate. Lisbon is hilly, and walking from the riverfront up to a viewpoint takes longer than the map suggests, so an itinerary with three or four stops fits a 90-minute session better than a 30-minute one. Starting close to your hotel keeps more of the time for photographing.
Does the cost change for couples, families or proposals?
The service works the same whatever kind of session you book, so the difference is in what you need rather than in a separate rate card. Our pages for each type go into the details.
- Couples. One hour is the usual choice. See our couple photography in Portugal page for how a session runs.
- Families. Most families are three to five people, so check the group terms on the booking page and consider 90 minutes with children. Read more on family photography in Portugal.
- Solo travellers. A session is built the same way as for a couple, and 30 minutes is often enough for portraits. See solo travel photography.
- Surprise proposals. We recommend 90 minutes so there is time to set up, wait for the right moment and photograph the celebration. Details are on our proposal photographer in Lisbon page.
Proposal sessions use the same session options as any other session. There is no separate “proposal fee” on our booking page.
What happens if it rains on the day of my photoshoot?
If the weather is clearly unfavourable, we reschedule the session at no extra cost. We make that decision together the evening before, so you are not standing at a viewpoint in the rain wondering whether to carry on.
- The evening before. We look at the forecast with you and decide together whether to go ahead.
- Clearly unfavourable? We reschedule the session at no extra cost.
- A new slot. Sessions are available daily between 09:00 and 20:00, which gives us room to find another time during your stay.
- Cloudy but dry? We usually carry on, because soft light flatters most people and a bit of cloud is fine for photos.
Keep a spare day in your itinerary if you can. It is the simplest way to make sure a change of weather never costs you your session.
How do I book a photographer in Lisbon?
Booking takes a couple of minutes on the booking page, and nothing is final until we confirm the details with you.
- Choose. Pick the session length, the location and the date. Select “Surprise me” if you want us to choose the location.
- Reserve. Message us to check availability, or pay by card to reserve the slot.
- Confirm. We confirm all the details with you on WhatsApp.
- Receive. Your edited private gallery arrives within 7 days of the session.

Is it worth paying for a photographer on holiday?
That is a personal call, but here is a practical way to look at it. A tripod selfie or a stranger’s quick snap gives you one or two usable pictures of the two of you. A session gives you 25 to 60+ edited photos where everyone is relaxed and the light and background are chosen on purpose.
For most visitors the real cost question is simply whether those photos will matter to them in five years.
Not sure? Book the shortest session on your most photogenic day, or the one that fits an occasion you already know you will want to remember. You can always choose a longer slot next time.
