Frequently asked questions
What if my kids won’t cooperate during the session?
This is the most common worry — and it almost never becomes a real problem. We work at the children’s pace, follow their energy, and capture moments between the “proper” shots. Kids running around and being themselves often produce the best images. We never force poses or create stressful situations.
How much does a family photography session in Portugal cost?
Sessions start at €150 for 30 minutes, €200 for 60 minutes (most popular for families), and €300 for 90 minutes. All include location planning and gallery delivery. A printed album is available as a +€150 add-on.
What is the best location for family photos in Lisbon?
Jardim Botânico da Ajuda is a favourite — spacious, lush and beautiful. Belém is ideal for open riverside light at golden hour. Sintra works beautifully for a fairytale atmosphere. Cascais is perfect for a beach or coastal setting.
What should we wear for a family photoshoot in Portugal?
Co-ordinated but not matching — complementary colours and similar tones rather than identical outfits. Avoid busy patterns or logos. Comfortable clothes the kids can move in freely. Solid colours and natural tones photograph beautifully in Portugal’s warm light.
What age is best for a family photography session?
All ages work — from newborns to grandparents. For toddlers and young children, the 60-minute Signature Session works best as it allows time for energy levels to settle. For babies under 12 months, early morning sessions when they’re freshest tend to work well.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible, especially for spring and autumn. Golden-hour windows fill quickly in April, May, September and October. A few weeks’ notice is usually workable, but earlier gives more flexibility on location and timing.
