Lisbon Photoshoot Gallery
Photos from real private sessions in Belém, Alfama, Baixa and along the Tagus, with a note on the light and the mood of each place.
This Lisbon photoshoot gallery shows real sessions from our team, grouped by the place where they were taken so you can see what each corner of the city looks like in photos.
Every picture below comes from a private session with travellers in Lisbon: couples on a honeymoon, families on holiday and people travelling on their own. They are natural, walk-and-talk sessions, not posed studio work. Use the gallery to choose a location and a kind of light, then tell us which photos feel closest to what you want.
Belém works for riverside and architecture, Alfama for tiled viewpoints and rooftops, Baixa for wide open squares. Late afternoon gives the warmest light in all three. Pick the photos you like, send them with your date, and we plan the route around them. The session lengths and what is included are on the booking page.
Belém and the Tagus riverfront
Belém is the open, airy side of Lisbon: a wide riverbank, the Belém Tower, the Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument, the curved white roof of the MAAT museum and the red 25 de Abril Bridge in the distance. It suits couples and families who like space and a clean backdrop, and it is easy to walk between spots in a few minutes.
Light is the main variable here. In the hour before sunset the river and the white stone turn warm, and the bridge softens in the background. Earlier in the day the walkways are busier, so a late slot gives you more room. For help choosing between this side of town and the old quarter, read our comparison of Belém vs Alfama for a photoshoot.
Alfama and its tiled viewpoints
Alfama is the old hillside quarter, with terracotta rooftops, narrow lanes and miradouros (viewpoints) with blue and white tiles. The Miradouro de Santa Luzia, with its stone columns and azulejo panels, is the classic frame. The city looks denser here, and the photos feel closer and warmer than at the river.
Tell us your date and the photos you like, and we will plan the route and the best hour for the light.
Check availabilityBaixa, Chiado and Praça do Comércio
The downtown grid is where Lisbon opens into big squares. The yellow arcades of Praça do Comércio, the Arco da Rua Augusta and the long, straight streets work well for families with small children, solo travellers and anyone who wants clean lines and a lot of space around them.
Mid-morning is the quietest time for the square. Families often choose this part of town because there is room to move, shade nearby and cafés a few minutes away if a child needs a break.
Golden hour on the river
If you only have one slot, the hour before sunset on the Tagus is the safest choice. The light is low and warm, the water reflects it, and the red bridge sits softly in the background of many of the photos below.

How to choose a spot from this gallery
Look at the photos you keep returning to and ask what they have in common. The answer usually points to a place and a time of day, and that is what we use to plan the session.
- Space or closeness. Open riverside and wide squares give room around you; Alfama gives narrow lanes and rooftops close to your shoulders.
- Warm or soft light. Golden hour gives warm skin and a glowing river; mid-morning gives clean, even light and fewer people.
- Quiet or lively. Early and late slots are calmer at the popular viewpoints; tell us if privacy matters and we choose accordingly.
- Landmark or no landmark. Some couples want the Belém Tower in the frame, others only want soft background and each other.
On what to wear, plain colours and simple textures photograph best in all of these places. Avoid large logos and very busy patterns, bring flat shoes for the cobbled pavements and a light layer for the breeze off the river. Our guide to what to wear for a photoshoot in Lisbon goes season by season.
