Where to shoot in Portugal
Three very different atmospheres, all within 40 minutes of each other.
Lisbon
Tiled streets, panoramic viewpoints, warm riverside light at sunset. Iconic without looking like every other tourist photo — when you know the right angles.
- Alfama — colourful tiles, intimate alleys
- Miradouros — sweeping city views
- Belém riverside — warm golden hour light
Sintra
Palaces, forested hills, dramatic cliffs at the edge of the continent. For portraits that look completely unlike anywhere else — 30 min from Lisbon.
Cascais
Ocean cliffs, Atlantic light, bold skies. The most cinematic backdrop — for portraits with serious impact at the edge of the sea.
What to expect from a solo session
Most people have never done a professional shoot alone. Here’s exactly what happens — from first message to final gallery.
Tell us what you want
Share your dates, location ideas and the style you’re after. Confident portraits, editorial, travel vibes — no brief is too vague.
We plan the session
We confirm the best location and the golden hour window for your date. The light does half the work when timed right.
We meet on location
No studio. We meet at the spot, walk through it naturally, and find the angles that work. No posing knowledge needed.
Light direction, not posing
Simple cues — where to look, how to move. Everything stays natural. The camera captures; you just exist in the space.
We explore together
As the session flows, we move between angles and spots. The best photos usually come when you’ve relaxed into it.

Frequently asked questions
I’ve never done a solo photoshoot — will it feel awkward?
Almost everyone feels this way before the session. We use light direction and natural movement rather than posing, so most people relax quickly and the results look natural and confident.
How much does a solo travel photography session in Portugal cost?
Sessions start at €150 for 30 minutes, €200 for 60 minutes (most popular), and €300 for 90 minutes. All include location planning, direction and gallery delivery. A printed album is available as a +€150 add-on.
What is the best location for solo travel photography in Lisbon?
Alfama and the miradouros for iconic Lisbon character. Belém for warm riverside light at sunset. Sintra and Cascais within 40 minutes offer fairytale and coastal drama respectively.
What should I wear for a solo photoshoot in Portugal?
Wear something you feel confident and comfortable in. Avoid very busy patterns or logos. Solid colours and simple cuts photograph well. Bring a second option if you’d like variety during the session.
How many photos will I receive?
A curated, edited gallery — not hundreds of similar shots. Every image delivered is professionally edited and worth keeping.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible, especially for spring and autumn. Golden-hour windows fill quickly in April, May, September and October. A few weeks’ notice is usually workable, but earlier gives more flexibility.
