Two practical notes for the coast. Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, faces the Atlantic, so sunset is its best light, and it is windy at any time of year. The public bus there is infrequent, so check the Carris Metropolitana timetable for the last bus back, or go by car or taxi.
